Post summer face mask recipe.

Looking for a post-summer face saviour and all round skin improver that prevents wrinkles and gets rid of acne?

Well here is a simple homemade face mask recipe I made which I love to use from time to time which can easily be found in your kitchen. It is also one of the best ones for post-summer to lock back all that lost moisture which the sun can deplete and dry out our skin. Even Victoria Beckham swears by avocado and honey masks to prevent ageing and smoothen her skin.

What I like about this mask is that it isn’t just good for your face but loaded with antioxidants which are excellent for our health. So you can literally eat it too which will benefit you internally helping your skin glow as well as being a great boost to your immune system and brain. The ingredients in this mask all have their own benefits and when combined together create a super anti-ageing skin elixir that your skin most probably craves and needs from time to time.

What are the benefits of the mask’s ingredients?

Avocados are packed with healthy fatty acids which plump the skin and slow ageing, antioxidant carotenoids, Vitamin C and Vitamin E that fight free radical damage usually from UVA and UVB rays from the sun.

Honey has also been added into the face mask, as it is a great antioxidant, which is soothing to the skin and is literally skin’s best friend. You can even use it as a cleanser which makes you have a radiant complexion after prolonged use. Furthermore honey prevents ageing as well as acne and heals scars.

Coconut oil is another one of my favourites which is an all rounder that can be used on the whole body to keep it youthful and healthy. You can also eat daily for added health benefits and as a weight loss aid. It is packed with medium chain fatty acids and vitamin E that are perfect for anti-aging and keeping your skin soft and supple. A final tip is that coconut oil has become popular as a makeup remover. Coconut oil may not be as suitable for oily skin so olive oil or almond oil can be used instead which are also excellent for the skin and packed with anti-ageing vitamin E.

Lastly if you do add lemon to any face mask, it is an excellent skin brightener, astringent so it helps with spots, scars and reduces the buildup of excess oil in the skin. Lemon has vitamin C and antioxidants which give your skin a much needed radiant glow. If you eat lemons or squeeze lemon in your water daily it will also act as a gentle detox for your body helping to improve the condition of your skin.
